Let me tell you about my latest project. I love art and art-filled houses. I also love being near the beach. I have combined these loves in Arlo Beach House, my most recent house project. Those who have been following me for a while know that, in 2023, my husband and I completed a major renovation on a historical home. Simultaneously, I embarked on a research project to uncover everyone who had lived in my house. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it had been occupied by at least two artists before me. I shared some of my research in an Open House/Studio event in 2023, which was a celebration and culmination of the project. You can read more about the event here.
After completing the renovation and research project, I looked for a new project that combined my love of the beach with my love of art. I created Arlo Beach House: an art-inspired beach shack now available on Airbnb and through Holiday Shacks. Throughout the house, you’ll discover artworks by me and other talented local artists.
You can hear the waves from Arlo Beach House, which is situated only about 100 meters from the beach, which is easily accessible. The house is tastefully designed, featuring original artworks and an inviting, luxe modern interior. The home is equipped with everything you need, whether you’re staying for a few days or several months. Enjoy the sun-filled deck or relax in the spacious open-plan living area, where a gas fireplace creates a warm and welcoming ambience year-round. There are plenty of indoor activities on site, including table tennis, darts, puzzles, and card games. There are also plenty of nearby places to visit, including the Coolart Homestead and Rare Hare Winery.

"Very clean house and well equipped with a beautiful backyard, near the beach in a queit location. Highly recommend! - Alex
Arlo Beach house is located in Somers, Victoria. Somers is a charming coastal town on the Mornington Peninsula, about an hour from Melbourne. From any beach in Somers, you can see the town of Cowes on Phillip Island in most weather conditions. Apart from a few small land subdivisions, Somers has not seen major development since the 1920s and has retained much of its beautiful bushland along the foreshore. I love to walk through Koala Park and along the coast track to the Somers General Store for breakfast, or along the south beach to Balnarring Beach.
