This mini painting is inspired by the story of Pandora's Jar from ancient Greek mythology. In the story Pandora opened a jar that was left in her care, inadvertently releasing sickness, greed, hate and many other evils into the world. Though she hastened to close the jar, only one thing remained: hope. For this version of Pandora’s jar, I’ve taken liberty with the size, shrinking it to a small and very portable glowing orb. The light represents hope. This square painting in painted on artist panel, with white sides.
