    This painting is inspired by the story of Pandora's Jar from ancient Greek mythology. In the story Pandora opened a jar that was left in her care, inadvertently releasing sickness, greed, hate and many other evils into the world. Though she hastened to close the jar, only one thing remained: hope. The glowing light represents hope.
