Pink + Red: The Colour Combination Defining Interiors

Pink + Red: The Colour Combination Defining Interiors

If 2025 was about playing it safe, 2026 is about being bold and nothing says confidence and joy quite like pink and red together.

Once thought of as a colour clash, pink and red are now officially the power couple of contemporary interiors. This playful pairing is showing up everywhere from fashion to furniture and it’s easy to see why.

💗 Pink isn’t going anywhere in 2026. Fresh, vibrant pinks continue to trend in fashion, and that momentum is flowing straight into our homes. But this isn’t sugary pastel pink. Think confident, expressive shades that are warm, energetic and full of personality. Pink brings lightness and optimism to a space. It softens hard lines, brightens darker corners, and adds that subtle glow that makes a room feel inviting rather than styled.

❤️ At the same time, warm reds and earthy red tones are emerging as major interior influences. Rich burgundy, oxblood, baked clay and deep crimson add depth and intimacy to a room. Red grounds a space. It creates atmosphere. It makes interiors feel layered and lived-in rather than flat or minimal.

And when you pair it with pink? That’s when the magic happens. The magic of this pairing is all about balance.

Pink brings joy and red brings strength. Together they create warmth.

Pink and red also love a good contrast, so consider layering blush with burgundy or pairing vibrant pink with deep oxblood. You coulda also combine soft rose tones with creamy neutrals or chocolate browns. Add black accents for edge, or gold details for a little glow-up. To avoid overwhelm in the home, include red and pink in spaces containing natural timbers and warm whites. This colour duo brings personality without taking itself too seriously.

In 2026, interiors are moving away from cool minimalism and towards warmth, personality and confidence. Pink and red embody that shift perfectly. You don’t need to paint your entire living room crimson (unless you want to, in which case, I support you).

Start with art. Artwork is one of the easiest ways to introduce colour into a space without committing to a full redesign. It's easy and fun!
